A Choir’s Story The Polifonico Farnesiano Choir was born in Piacenza in 1976 thanks to the initiative of Master Roberto Goitre and Felice Trabacchi, Piacenza Mayor at the time. The latter, while walking past the windows of the Conservatoire, heard people sing and felt the irresistible temptation to see what was going on. Mr. Goitre welcomed him and presented the Choir to the Mayor…the rest is history.

Through more than 30 years of experience, the Farnesiano Choir carried out a training activity specifically for children and adults.

Piacenza Municipality, via its Cultural Promotion Section, decided to support financially both the basic training courses (Preliminary path) and the two Choirs which were born from the "Choral School" initiative (Children’s Choir and Mixed Choir). In 1980, the Municipality limited its supporting activity to an annual contract to Master Pigazzini to recognize his commitment in leading the above mentioned "Choral School".

Despite this, the Farnesiano Choir carried on its training courses on music for adults and children, well aware of the importance of the work done so far as well as of the growing participating public in such courses.
